The Insiders: You’ll flip for this opportunity to burn some of your kids’ energy
If we’re doing it right, you’ll occasionally find yourself mesmerized by our literary gymnastics. Sometimes, though, there’s just no replacement for actual gymnastics, especially for children. Scientific studies show that children who spend an hour doing gymnastics are less likely to spend an hour running around your house with a colander on their head (source: Insider scientific research staff).
Today, you can help your children burn off some energy for a great cause, as Flipz Gymnastics at 134D Hall Street hosts an open gym session from noon to 2 p.m. to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital. All ages are welcome, and a $10 donation per child is requested. All proceeds will benefit the children’s hospital. Plus, the Insider staff will match every successful tumble completed!*
(*Insider staff can’t actually successfully tumble.)

There’s music to entertain you today, as well. There will be an English Country Dance in the auditorium at Presidential Oaks, featuring Rich Jackson with Vince O’Donnell and Justine Paul. Speaking of dancing, dancing queens will be pleased to know that ABBA Mania will be at the Capitol Center for the Arts tonight at 7:30. Tickets range from $20 to $45.
