The Insiders: Video game on at NHTI today
It’s been a weekend of games. Yesterday the Concord area was blessed with two state championship football contests, and this morning we engaged in an ill-fated attempt to play hide-and-seek with thousands of people (we lost; you just found us.)
But there’s no need for the games to stop. Some of them have been in the works for the last 48 hours or so at NHTI, and today is your chance to witness the big reveal at the finale of the animation and graphic game programming students’ Fall Game Jam. Who knows, you might witness the creation of the next Monopoly (which would technically mean Monopoly would no longer have a monopoly on Monopoly. We’re just going to shut up and pass go now).
The theme was revealed Friday evening, and game development has been under way ever since. Today at 5 p.m. is when demonstrations take place and the fruits of all that labor become clear. Which is great, because we love fruit.

Also today, catch a matinee performance of Monty Python’s Spamalot at 2 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium, performed by the Community Players of Concord. Spam not included.
John Franzosa will be performing at Hermanos this evening, as well, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
