The Insiders: Make your day with some local shopping and dueling pianos

Now that we’ve got Thanksgiving out of the way, it is time to turn our attention to Christmas.

Some of you may have risked your lives to get some deals on Black Friday and if so, we applaud your effort and request you send us pictures of people playing tug-of-war over the last Playstation 4. But for those of you who would rather shop local this holiday season, we’ve got just the thing for you – Small Business Saturday.

All over our fair city, local businesses will be offering tremendous deals today. If you want to find the perfect gift at a good price and avoid the craziness of a big box store all at the same time, then this is the day for you. Just think of the possibilities. We have and they are endless.

And when your day of shopping is done and you need a way to relax, think about heading over to the Capitol Center for the Arts for Dueling Pianos at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $19 for the high energy, interactive and all-request rock ’n roll event.

According to the CCA website, dueling piano shows are request oriented, interactive sing-a-long shows wherein two piano players sit across from each other and trade songs. They even create rivalries among the audience members. What a way to end the holiday weekend.
