Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron was named a finalist yesterday for the NHL’s Selke Award, which is given to the league’s best defensive forward. He was joined by Los Angeles’s Anze Kopitar and Chicago’s Jonathan Toews. Bergeron is going for his third Selke; he won in 2012 and 2014 and was a finalist in 2013, finishing as the runner-up to Toews. Bergeron continued his excellence at faceoffs this season, winning 1,175 of his 1,951 draws, both of which led the league. He won 60.2 percent of his faceoffs, which was also best in the NHL.
