Biography

Ben Leubsdorf covers City Hall and other news in Concord, and writes the Downtown column that appears in the paper on Mondays. He previously was a regional reporter.

He's a native of Washington, D.C., studied abroad at the American University in Cairo and graduated from Brown University in 2008 with a degree in international relations. He worked for the Associated Press as an editorial assistant in Detroit before moving to New Hampshire in early 2010.

His favorite things include spicy food, the Washington Capitals and World War II propaganda posters.

Moose lottery time

WANT TO BAG a moose in New Hampshire this fall? The deadline to enter this year's moose-hunt lottery is Friday. Hi sail,

In case you were wondering, installing self-operable lifts at all seven of Concord's pools this year will cost $30,000. The spending was approved at the last council meeting.

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your comment! I mentioned the crash most of the way down on the second page.

"Serious accidents still happen on Route 202/9. A high-speed collision last year in Henniker left a man dead, and Schaefer said a woman was killed earlier this year on the road in Hopkinton. There were two fatal crashes in 2008 ..."

I didn't include any 2010 crashes in the main analysis because the DOT accident database I was provided only goes through last year.
