They can talk about changing the tax code all they want but it won't happen. That job is left to Congress, not the President, and the entire code is designed to protect special interests. Those same power players who are sheltered by tax breaks would use their influence squash any legislation that would interfere with their tax situation. And around and around we go...... |

The question I have for the Creationists is "do you believe the Earth is at the center of the Universe?" If not, why? It was not that long ago that guys like Galileo were imprisoned for suggesting otherwise. So if you believe that astronomy has proved otherwise, why are scientists wrong on evolution? |

I have one daughter in college in CT because the cost there is virtually the same as UNH. The other is a high school senior, who I was encouraging to check out UNH because of her chosen major. Not anymore. Given the level of support from the legislature I only see prices rising and quality suffering. There are plenty of schools to choose from and we'll pick one with a brighter future. No thanks UNH. |

Michelle, I can only tell you what we won't do to address the debt crisis--raise taxes to actually pay for the items we've purchased, chief among them the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now you may whine that we are already taxed too much, but we still pay a smaller percentage than most developed nations. So, if YOU want to be the hero to deal with our debilitating deficits you should stand up proudly and proclaim that it's time we pony up and pay the bills that are past due. I dare you. |

One of the reasons Obama objected to providing his long form birth certificate was that he knew it would just lead to more questions and more requests for more documents. Well, there you are. We should most definitely elect The Donald, since he has his finger so deftly on the pulse of what's really important to Americans. |

I can just see it now! Chief of Staff Gary Busey, Secretary of Defense Joan Rivers, and Secretary of State Lil Wayne. We should change his nickname to something more fitting than "The Donald". I offer "The Douchebag". |

Aren't you gone yet? I thought you'd signed off. Hasta la vista, baby. |

The Republicans can't see any of the unintended consequences of their actions. In this case, the virtual repeal of Medicare will simply open the floodgates toward single payer universal health care for all in the nearer future. That system is inevitable anyway, unless we have the stomach to watch people die in the streets due to lack of care. Insurance company's costs (and their profits) will continue to rise to the point where ultimately only the few will be able to afford it. At that point the government will have to pick up the ball. Be careful what you ask for, GOP. |

Don't think changes like this will go unnoticed by scam artists. They will flourish if they know the chances of getting nailed are so low. Add to this cuts to law enforcement at all levels and we have a wide open arena for criminals to ply their trade successfully in NH. Way to have our backs, GOP. Saving us money? Nothing could be further from the truth. You'll see. |
Seeing as we all know that guns and drinking are a poor match it's fortunate that very few students would be carrying both a gun and a beer. What could possibly go wrong?
