this will be my last comment here. 1st off, how we ever got to the point of funding all this crap while the basics go untaught is beyond me. High school should be about BASICS. We have yet to teach kids the BASICS well, and that should be the focus. Training kids for a career in high school in my mind isn't very smart..how many of you are doing what it is you thought you would be doing while in high school? Teach kids how to think, how to do basic math, how to balance a checkbook, how to read, how to write, and maybe even teach the value of HARD WORK. Honest hard work is good for you..ask anyone who has done it..then after they graduate...kids can put their skills to work in a job and save money to further their education. Believe me, there was NO BETTER way for me to learn that more education was a good thing than MY CRAPPY JOB DURING HIGH SCHOOL. and during my 2 vo-tech years. I made slippers, more specifically. I put rubber soles on slippers. It sucked...it was insanely hot, and my fingers are still a little twisted looking from pulling them over the hot forms. Oh and this class size thing pisses me off too. I just looked at my 2nd grade Catholic school class picture. I counted 32 students in 1 class. Every one of those kids got a 1st class education. So don't give me this crap about the poor teacher or student with 11 kids in a class..Boo Hoo. Have fun all. I'll be watchin' but I won't be writing. |

where was this when I went to High school? Back then, you graduated High School, and you saved your money to go to the NH tech school..just like I did. At NHVTC-Manchester...they offered Machine Tool Process associates degrees...along with building construction, welding, drafting, HVAC, auto mechanic, and nursing. Now the taxpayer is supposed to fund this in high school?...Jeez...I was born too late....If my parents had just waited I could have saved myself some cash by getting my training in High school.. If high schools would just get the basics right...maybe kids might have a chance...but as it is..we SUCK as far as just the BASICS Dan...we are WAY down on the list worldwide...and at the TOP of the list on money spent...don't you get that???????????? God....Zaphod was right...this crap is for pigs |

Gov't employees are paid way too much..espically the ones at the top. And we have too many of them. And they all scream if you even think of a single digit percentage cut to their bugdet. That should do it BIlly...let me know if you need instructions for a broom or a toilet plunger too. |

At some point, I may have to follow Zaphod's lead and bail out of this ignorant slop. Until then, I'm all in. Pat's love for Obama has blinded her to facts. This story is in TODAYS Monitor..I suggest Pat read it. snip Speaking to reporters in El Salvador, his final stop on a five-day Latin American trip, Obama said he had "no doubt" that the United States would turn over command of the Libyan operation in "days, not weeks." http://www.concordmonitor.com/article/247243/us-appears-closer-to-turnin... |

"I want to rediscover the power of our diplomacy. I said early in this campaign I would meet not just with our friends, but also with our enemies ... I remember what John F. Kennedy said. He said we should never negotiate out of fear, but we should never fear to negotiate. Strong countries and strong presidents talk to their adversaries, and tell them where America stands, and try to resolve differences without resort to war. And when we do that, I believe the world is waiting. I want to go before the world community and say, 'America's back, and we are ready to lead.'" Ha ha..yeah we are leading alright..WE ARE BACK!!! |

How many of these "seniors" in high school work a 2nd shift job, 8 hours, their entire senior year like I did. I worked and saved for my education. And I don't seem to have a party that represents me. I'll continue to pay my school portion of my property tax. Hell. I'd even be willing to pay more, IF the government schools can start turning out world class students. We spend more per student that any other country and we are WAY down on the list when it comes to results.Maybe you are happy with that fact, if you are you are in the RIGHT party. |
