Everything a hospital gives free comes back to us as higher rates. This hits our insurance, which makes their rates higher. Those extra high charges to those without insurance get charged back to our insurance, Medicare and Medicaid in the rate setting as unpaid debt, which again makes all the rates higher.

Great system - the less we can pay, the more they charge, the less we can pay, the more they charge . . .

We either need a single payer plan or let people die when they get sick, we can't afford it now.

and I am a member, too. And as members, maybe it is time for us to look closer at their books and ask some of these questions. And the fair share payers can become members and bring up these issues, too.

Imperfect as it is, it is still the only protection we have against much worse. And the reason for fair share is to allow those who don't agree with SEA to pay for what they get without supporting SEA fully. Which is why we don't need "right to work".
