Girls’ Basketball

Merrimack Valley 59,
Bishop Brady 28

Key players: MV – Macy Gordon (16 points), Rylee Boucher (9 points), Livvie Lacasse (8 points); Bishop Brady – Libbey Hicks (8 points)

Highlights: After a 7-7 tie through the first quarter, MV narrowly led 20-16 at halftime, but pulled away in the third quarter. The Pride led 43-23 heading into the fourth.

Coach’s quote: “We struggled a bit early in the first half. We talked at half about putting away teams and we did that in the second half. We played with a lot of energy, made the right passes, played as a team on both ends and it showed. Very proud of our effort in the second half and hope we can continue to play like that more often. We still have some areas that need to improve and we will continue to work on those. Tough road matchup coming up on Saturday vs. Hollis and we need to be ready to play.” – MV’s Bob McNutt

Records: MV 9-1; Bishop Brady 1-9

Kearsarge 55,
Raymond 26

Key players: Kearsarge – Caroline Camp (17 points, 10 rebounds), Rayna Tucker (8 points, 6 assists), Hannah Goen (8 points), Kathy DeCosta (7 points)

Highlights: Kearsarge started fast with really good pressure, leading 15-2 after the first quarter and 30-6 at halftime.

Coach’s quote: “Our defense again was very good with causing a lot of turnovers in the back court and ended up getting us some easy shots early. We were then able to run our offense and get some really good looks, which we knocked down. Great team win with all the players contributing tonight.” – Kearsarge’s Keith Roberts

Records: Kearsarge 6-0; Raymond 0-8

Bow 37,
John Stark 27

Key players: John Stark – Eleanor Girardet (11 points, 15 rebounds), Abigail Duclos (7 points)

Highlights: Bow used its height advantage to score some easy inside baskets and get the Stark players in foul trouble.

Coach’s quote: “I thought we played better tonight, but we couldn’t survive the foul trouble we got in. We are still working on being consistent for 32 minutes and cutting down our turnovers. With our injuries and being young it’s taking time, but we are getting there.” – John Stark’s Bruce Johnson

Records: Bow 6-2; John Stark 7-3

Concord Christian 47,
Sunapee 27

Key players: Concord Christian  – Lilli Carlile (13 points, rebounds), Kayden Rioux (strong defense off the bench), Emma Smith (10 points), Sarah Muir (9 points)

Boys’ Basketball

Sanborn 83,
Pembroke 70

Key players: Sanborn – Andrew Pugh (25 points, five 3s), Jared Khalil (18 points); Pembroke – Mike Pitman (19 points), Joe Fitzgerald (16 points), Mike Strazzeri (13 points)

Highlights: Sanborn’s aggressive offensive drained 13 3-pointers and owned the offensive and defensive boards.

Coach’s quote: “Take nothing away from Sanborn. They are a very good basketball team. They don’t allow middle penetration and shoot extremely well. But we were not ready to play this good of a team. We didn’t rebound well, didn’t shoot well. They wanted this more than we did. We just need to regroup and play the way we are capable of on a much more consistent basis.” – Pembroke assistant Mike Donnell

Records: Sanborn 10-2; Pembroke 9-2
