John Stark 4, Coe-Brown 3

Key players: John Stark  – Olivia Hargreaves (7 IP, 19 K; 3-run HR), Kira Linstad (2-out RBI double); Coe-Brown – Emma Broadstone (double, run), Sydney Bergeron (double, run)

Highlights: This game resumed one that was suspended on April 26 due to a weather delay and Hargreaves wasted no time closing out the victory for the Generals, striking out six of the seven outs needed. Hargreaves belted a three-run homer to give Stark the 4-3 lead back in April, while Linstad drove in Eva Grolljahn home on a double, which proved to be the winning run. The Bears scored three runs in the top of the fifth thanks to a pair of walks and two doubles to cut Stark’s lead to 4-3 before the game was suspended, but couldn’t muster any offense on Tuesday.

Coach’s quote: “It was good to finally get this game in the books because its one we thought we should have won back on April 26, but had to wait til today to count it. Olivia got to finish this game today on three days rest thanks to Kira, our freshman pitcher, who threw a great game yesterday, recording her second win. It definitely had a playoff feel to it today and when you can come out on top in games like that, it just builds confidence for us as we end the season this week and head into the playoffs.” – John Stark’s Gerry Morin

Records: John Stark 12-2; Coe-Brown 13-1
