On Aug. 3, Gov. Chris Sununu signed SB 234, known as the Jason Dickey Suicide Prevention Act, into law. As Jason’s parents, Paul and I are proud to have brought it forth and to have gained the support of Sen. Ward and Rep. Joseph Alexander, as well as unanimous support by both the House and Senate. This legislation puts the National Suicide Prevention Hotline on the back of student identification cards in New Hampshire.

Our hope is that no student should ever feel so alone that they are driven to take their life. We do not wish another family to feel the pain that we felt losing Jason. This legislation has the potential to save lives. We wish to also thank Governor Chris Sununu for his support and for signing this important and lifesaving legislation into law.
