JV results

The Pembroke JV boys’ lacrosse team lost to Kennett, 8-7. Kevin Leblanc (four goals), Josh Dion (assist), Bailey Cotnoir and Jarrod Bingham scored for Pembroke, while Jacob McDonald added two assists and Ryan Commerford played a solid game in net.

Freshman result

The Concord freshman softball team beat Exeter, 15-0. Elise O’Neil earned the win with a complete game (two hits, seven strikeouts) while Carly Torrance (grand slam), Emma Dusavitch (three hits, RBI) and Brooke Wheeler (double, two RBI) led the offense.

Golf results

Eighty-one golfers opened the season at Concord Country Club’s Opening Duster. Dave Perry and his team of Lois Davis, Tom Flanders and Jim Steiner won with a 19-under par round of 51 in the Bramble format. Bruce Burns and his team of Doug Ricard, Kathy Barnes and Chuck Douglas took second place with a round of 53. Brian Verville, Mike Sherman, Jay Salamy and Teddy Brunkhorst took third with a 55.

Youth softball

Beckett Glass defeated Elektriksola in Senior League action. Nicole Lebrun and Autumn Nudd totaled 11 strikeouts while Abby Corbett and Hope Taiwan both went 4-for-4.

Concord National’s Cimos Deli defeated Merrimack Valley’s Franklin Savings Bank. Jordan Cromwell and Finley Pratt hit well for Cimos while Lexi Adams played well defensively. For Franklin Savings Bank, Amelia Danko hit a home run, Emily Kelly pitched well and Gwen McGrath played well defensively.

Tilton School results

The Tilton School boys’ tennis team lost to New Hampton, 6-3, in a match that was determined by three tiebreaker sets.

The Tilton varsity softball team (4-4) defeated KUA, 10-5. Margot Formisano earned the win, striking out six, scattering six hits and allowing three earned runs. Mack Stephen (two hits), Meeka Bolduc (two hits, RBI) and Kirsten Chandonnet (two hits, RBI) led the offense.

The Tilton girls’ varsity lacrosse team lost to Proctor, 14-6. Meredith Backman scored twice, and Kayley Hughes and Madi Downs also scored. Elyssa Rosengard, Concord’s Stasia Bogacz and Sarah Schartner led the defense.

The Tilton boys’ varsity lacrosse team beat Berwick, 16-10. Spencer Alrbight (assist) and Nick Waring scored five goals apiece and Hoyt McCuin added two goals and four assists for the Rams.

Proctor Academy results

The Proctor Academy boys’ lacrosse team beat KUA, 11-6.

The girls’ lacrosse team beat Tilton, 14-5.

The baseball team beat Brewster, 17-12.

The softball team beat Hebron, 18-4.

The girls’ tennis team lost to KUA, 8-1.

College standouts

Bow’s Ryan Boldwin, a freshman on the Franklin Pierce baseball team, hit a solo home run in the Ravens’ doubleheader sweep of Assumption.

Bow’s Kasie Tucker, a senior at Franklin Pierce, was part of the Ravens’ first varsity boat that took second place at the Northeast-10 Challenge.

Northwood’s Samantha Toscano, a junior at Franklin Pierce, took fifth place in the long jump at the Larry Ellis Invitational, with a leap of 5.21 meters.

Concord’s Katie Kennard was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI in the Plymouth State softball team’s 6-5 win over Rhode Island College, then went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs in a 3-0 win over RIC. Concord’s Deb Morrill was 1-for-2 with a stolen base.

Camps/Clinics/Lessons

5-star baseball clinic, put on by Nate Craigue, a former member of the Minnesota Twins organization, will be held for 9-12-year-olds during April vacation (Monday-Friday) at Grappone Park in Concord. UNH men’s soccer program will host four camps. The first will be Monday-Friday and the second July 11-15, both for ages 5-14. Cap City Basketball camp will be held over April vacation for girls and boys in grades K-8 Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-noon at Bishop Brady High School. Cost is $110. Archery shoot fundraiser for the UNH archery team will be held Sunday at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. at the Archery in Motion range at Bass Pro Shops in Hooksett.
