Gymnastics

The Concord High School girls’ gymnastics team competed in their first meet over the weekend in Dover and sophomore Hannah Barton took first place overall. Concord’s next meet will be on Jan. 15 at A2 Gym and Cheer.

Tilton results

The Tilton School girls’ basketball team pieced together a balanced game to defeat Tabor Academy, 55-48. Tilton’s Maddie Clark (Hopkinton) finished with 14 points and four rebounds to lead the way while teammate Olivia Orlando added a double-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

Ryan Layman, Terrell Brown and Marcus Zegarowski all finished with 20-plus points for the Tilton School boys’ basketball team in 94-87 win over Cheshire. The Rams improve to 5-2 on the season heading into their holiday break.

Saint Paul’s results

Finley Frechette and Bella Kang each scored but the St. Paul’s School girls’ hockey team fell just shy in the championship game of the Harrington Invitational Tournament to Nobles Academy, 3-2.

Youth basketball

Nate Kiah led all scorers with 18 points for the Dunbarton White third-and fourth-grade boys’ basketball team in a 40-14 win over Bow 3A. Trevor Carter, Andrew Jewell, Zach Clancy, Mike Magdziasz and Josh Clancy all contributed points in the victory.

The Concord Boys and Girls Club seventh-and eighth-grade girls’ basketball team defeated ICB, 62-34, in Manchester Suburban Basketball League action. Halle Laramie led the way offensively with 16 points and three assists. Teammate Ami Rivera added 11 points with eight rebounds, eight steals and seven assists.

Makayla Trudel finished with a game-high eight points and the Bow fifth-and sixth-grade girls’ basketball team knocked off Sanborn 3, 19-12. Hanna McGonigle and Meghan Shippos combined for nine points.

The Independent Community Basketball seventh-and eighth-grade team defeated Bedford, 60-33. Griffin Wheeler led all scorers with 16 points while Matt Grandmaison chipped in with 15 points.

The Bow sixth grade girls’ basketball team lost to Bow, 39-25, in Manchester Suburban League action. Alexandra Larrabee and Isabella LaPerle paced Bow with six points apiece. The loss dropped Bow to 4-8.

Youth hockey

The Concord Brochu Nursery Squirt 1 ice hockey team knocked off Cape Ann on Saturday, 7-0. Concord’s goals were scored by Gavin Nestler, Chili Cabot, Tyler Fennelly, Avery Condon, Colby Nyhan and Jordan Dustin. Garrett Bishop played a strong game between the pipes to record the shutout.

Events

FieldHouse Sports will host a double-elimination 4 vs. 4 holiday soccer tournament on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The tournament will offer divisions ranging from high school coed to middle school coed. There will also be a Holiday Indoor Soccer Jamboree for the 8U and 10U teams on Dec. 28 from 12-4 p.m. The fee to register for both tournaments is $90 per team with a portion of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross. Amy Annis Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at both the Gilford High School and Gilford Middle School gymnasiums. Softball hitting and pitching clinic will be hosted by Plymouth State softball on Jan. 29. Lakes Region Flag Football League registrations are now open. League starts on Jan. 21 and runs on Saturdays through April 1. Games are played at Tilton Sports Center. Coed divisions are for ages 5-7, 8-10, and 11-14 (age of January 1).
