In Concord Northeast Capital Area Seniors Softball action, Rymes Propane & Oil fell to Deck Rite, 19-18. Rymes was led by Elizabeth Blinn (three hits) and Lily Hillsgrove (reached three times), while Libby Brown was solid behind the plate. In a 12-1 loss to Henniker, Savannah Shannon and Emma Stephenson both reached base safely twice. Ana Gaby tossed three strong innings.
The Concord Crush U10 girls’ lacrosse team beat Weare, 7-5. Emma Pelletier, Gracen Arndt, Madison Beauregard and Brooke Nelson all paced the offense. Maia Bradley and Amelia Crumrine also played well, while Tadu Sirois was tough in goal.
The Hopkinton 12U girls’ lacrosse team beat Merrimack, 8-1. Sarah Chodosh and Katie Brown each scored twice for Hopkinton, while Charlotte Presti, Tia Madden, Melita Belt and Ameilia Walsh scored one goal apiece. Becca Barnard finished with two saves in goal and received strong defense in front from Izzy Afflerbach and Flo Dapice. Earlier in the day, Hopkinton beat Oyster River, 11-5. Chodosh, Abby Bennett and Hannah Hoyt all finished with multiple goals.
Sophomore Tom Blandini (Bow) finished 3-for-5 and drove in three runs for the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team, which beat St. Thomas Aquinas College, 8-1, to advance to the regional final. SNHU will need just one victory Monday to secure the program’s second College World Series berth.
NHTI Athletics Department Golf Series will be held at Beaver Meadow Golf Course on June 8. Cost is $450 for a team of four. Greens fees, cart and dinner are included. The tournament will be a shotgun start beginning at 1:30 p.m. Registrations begins at 12:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction, raffle, closest to the pin, longest drive, and other opportunities to win prizes. The second event is a nine-hole shotgun start tournament at Loudon Country Club on Aug. 21. Teams are $175 for a foursome or $50 per player. Driving range is open at 2 p.m., shotgun start at 3 p.m. with dinner and awards at 5 p.m. Space is limited. Host families needed
Winnipesaukee Muskrats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League are looking for local families to host players for the upcoming summer season. Players typically range from 19-22 years of age and will arrive the first week of June and leave the first week of August. Host families are asked to provide a spare room with a bed, access to shower and laundry facilities, and occasional meals for their player – typically breakfast. Transportation is not required. Host families are offered free season tickets for their entire household, three free weeks of baseball camp for their children, free admission to all other NECBL venues, and access to special events before and during the season. Concord Flyers Girls Track & Field program will be opening its 27th season on June 4. The program runs from June through early August and is for girls age 7-15. Peak FC, a new non-profit soccer and futsal club launching in June and based out of Pembroke and Concord, will play soccer and train at the NEAC complex in Pembroke and play futsal at the new Concord Community Center. The new club will offer a full-year option (Aug.-June) and also offer seasonal options for kids who are multi-sport athletes. Cap City Basketball Spring Skills & Drills clinics will be held every Tuesday through May 29. Clinics for boys and girls age 4 through fifth-grade beginners are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and advanced fifth-grade through ninth-grade players will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. All clinics will be held at the Concord Boys & Girls Club at 55 Bradley Street. Cost for all seven sessions $150 pre-paid online, or $160 at the door. Single-day sessions cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
Concord Parks and Recreation field hockey introduction program is being offered for players ages 2-5. The Elementary School Skills program introduces players to the basic fundamentals needed to be successful in the game of field hockey. Classes progress from technical skill work to small game play. This program runs on Tuesdays through June 5 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The instructor is Caitlyn Smith of Seacoast United.
Concord Parks & Rec track & field camps for grades 1-7 will run June 18-22 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Memorial Field and will feature a variety of events. UNH men’s basketball team Elite Camp will be on June 23 for players entering grades 9-12 next fall. The camp features personalized skill instruction, 5-v-5 game play, college admission and NCAA Eligibility Center informational sessions.
