Charity awards mini-grants

The NHHEAF Network Organizations’ employee-led NHHEAF Network Cares charitable giving program recently announced eight New Hampshire nonprofit agencies are recipients of mini-grants to be used to further support their work in the state. Since the initiative’s inception in 2014, 38 New Hampshire nonprofits have received mini-grants through this initiative. Seven nonprofit agencies were awarded $225 in mini-grant funds are: Rundlett Middle School’s Blue Duke Care Closet (Concord), Concord Coalition to End Homelessness (Concord), Easter Seals N.H. (Manchester), SafeKids NH (Lebanon), The Children’s Place & Parent Education Center (Concord), The Friends Program (Concord), and The Homestead Inn (Boscawen). In addition, Bridges-New Hampshire (Nashua) received $150 in mini-grant funds. The organizations’ employees have contributed or raised more than $26,000 in monetary contributions which are distributed through the mini-grant process or are raised as part of fundraising for such events as the Payson Center for Cancer Care’s Rock ‘N Race, and Child and Family Services’ SleepOut event. HennikerHistoric architects sought for library

The Trustees of the Tucker Free Library are accepting applications from regional architectural firms with expertise working with historic buildings to complete an architectural feasibility study for the library located in Henniker. The submittal deadline is Sept. 28 by 4 p.m. Complete details, including access to the Request for Qualifications can be seen at tuckerfreelibrary.org. The firm selected to conduct the architectural feasibility study will recommend design options and produce construction documents for this multi-phase project. The goals of this project includes the replacement of an aging accessibility lift to provide access to current and future levels of service including an option and cost estimate to add access to our third floor attic space, incorporating public restrooms within structure, provision for programming and community meeting space on third floor attic space and creating documents and/or models that will be utilized for fundraising activities. ConcordPrepare to join a nonprofit board

The N.H. Center for Nonprofits is seeking applications for the next cohort of the Hoffman-Haas Fellowship. Scheduled to start this October in Concord, the program is designed to engage, prepare and inspire fellows to serve on nonprofit boards. The fellowship responds to a critical need in the nonprofit sector: the need for an expanded and diverse pool of community leaders who are ready for volunteer board service. Hoffman-Haas Fellows are individuals with a strong desire to be effective civic leaders and actively engage in issues which impact their community. The fellowship features a six-part dinner series with the “best of the best” national board experts. Each fellow is paired with a mentor – a seasoned professional who has extensive experience serving on nonprofit boards. The center is currently accepting applications, and nominations for both fellows and mentors. The application deadline for fellows is Sept. 12.
