Hopkinton’s two elementary schools will be offering COVID-19 vaccination clinics next week, where students can receive the Pfizer vaccine, which was approved for children under 12 by the FDA in October and by the CDC earlier this month.

Both Harold Martin School and Maple Street School will hold clinics on Dec. 8, with a second clinic four weeks later on Jan. 5, 2022, where vaccines will be administered by Granite United Way, according to Maple Street principal Amy Doyle. At Maple Street School, Wednesday’s clinic will be located in the cafeteria beginning at 8:30 a.m., while at Harold Martin School, the clinic will be located in the staff room starting between 12:30 and 1 p.m.

Parents and guardians must complete a consent form to allow their children to be vaccinated, and at Harold Martin School which serves the district’s youngest students, parents must accompany their children to the clinic and be present during the vaccine. While the clinics are primarily for Hopkinton public school students, Doyle said the school hopes to be responsive to outside families, including those with homeschooled students or other connections to the community, who reach out to secure a spot in the clinic.

Student can receive either their first or second vaccination shot at both clinics. Students who are seeking to get the second dose on Wednesday will need to provide a copy of their vaccination record card.
