Laconia Auction ornaments

’Tis the season to support the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction, and local businesses are now selling decorative ornaments for in-store display or to take home. The ornaments cost $1, $5 or $10 and help raise money for the auction, which will be held this year from Dec. 7 through Dec. 10 at Tanger Outlets in Tilton. The ornaments are four-inch-round cardstock decorations that customers can write their names on for display at a business or to take home. All proceeds benefit the auction. Canterbury Merry Canterbury

Canterbury Shaker Village gets the holiday season off to a celebratory start with “Merry Merry Canterbury,” two weekends of revelry to be presented Dec. 11 and 12 and Dec. 18 and 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. Festivities will include two magic shows, a world premiere dance performance, caroling with the Canterbury Singers, and pomander and ornament- making for kids – something for everyone! In addition, the Village’s treasured Candlelight Tours will make a welcome return on Dec. 18 and 19 at 4 and 5 p.m. Admission for “Merry Merry Canterbury” is complimentary for youth; $15 for members; $20 for adults, and includes all events except Candlelight Tours, which must be reserved in advance. All tickets may be purchased online at shakers.org. The Village requests that all visitors be fully vaccinated. Masks will be required. Enjoy a cup of good cheer – hot cocoa or hot cider – while you browse the Village Store, which will be open throughout all “Merry Merry Canterbury” events, offering a variety of specialty items and holiday gift options.

Concord Audubon Craft Fair

Visit NH Audubon’s McLane Center in Concord on Dec. 11 for a special holiday shopping experience from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Holiday Craft Fair features handmade crafts by local artisans: scarves, ornaments, pottery, jewelry, nature photography, body care products, knit and quilted items, greeting cards, chocolate and more! There will also be a raffle featuring items from vendors plus local businesses. The Nature Store will be open, and NH Audubon Members will receive 20% off Nature Store purchases during the fair.
