4 hospital workers, 2 officers exposed to white powder in Manchester

Officials from Elliot Hospital in Manchester hospital said four emergency department workers and two police officers were treated after being exposed to an unidentified white powder while working on a patient.

Reports said the Manchester Fire Department and a hazmat team were called to Elliot Hospital on Thursday morning. The hospital said the six began suffering symptoms such as nausea, high blood pressure, and an elevated heart rate.

The hospital said the six were treated at the scene are okay. The emergency department was open Thursday.

Emergency crews were working to determine what the white powder was.
