Bach Lunches

What: Soothe your soul and gladden your heart with the first two free Bach’s Lunch programs of the new year: “Soothe the Soul: Mozart in B flat Major” and “Music of Mozart, Beethoven, and Bridge.” During the first session, pianist and Concord Community Music School president Peggy Senter explores similarities in beautiful works for piano and strings in B flat Major by Mozart, including a violin & piano sonata, a piano trio, and his final piano concerto. She will also ponder the history and some clues as to why 18th century composers might have chosen particular keys for a particular mood. In the second session, faculty member Matt Dickey will perform on violin and viola. Musical selections will highlight both violin and viola in an effort to “bridge the gap” between the two instruments. Faculty member Kathryn Southworth joins Dickey on piano for works by Frank Bridge and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday, Dickey will be joined by faculty member Kate Jensik on cello for the lively “Eyeglass Duo.”

Where: Concord Community Music School recital hall, 23 Wall St., Concord
