The Henniker Summer Concert Series is pleased to welcome back internationally acclaimed folk musician, lecturer and cultural ambassador Reggie Harris for two special performances on June 28. At the Tucker Free Library at 10 a.m., children are invited to join Harris for an interactive workshop entitled: โ€œThe Underground Railroad in Song and Storyโ€ that celebrates the great American freedom movement. Participants will learn songs that were used by brave conductors and abolitionists in helping slaves to escape bondage in the 1800s by leading them along the Freedom Train. Space is limited. Please sign up at tuckerfreestaff@comcast.net and put Reggie Harris in the subject line. There is no cost to this workshop.

Later at 6:30 p.m., Harris will return to the Angela Robinson Bandstand for his performance. Reggie is a singer-songwriter and storyteller whose mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire. For over 40 years, he has captivated audiences to standing ovations in the US, Canada and across Europe. Throughout his travels he carries a message of joy, unity, tolerance and peace through the powerful medium of live music. He is in high demand for concerts, schools, universities, residencies, community-building festivals and teaching workshops.

A songwriter of great depth and insight, Reggie Harris writes from a personal but accessible place that reveals his deep sense of humanity.

Should there be inclement weather, the evening concert will move to the Community Center. For more information, contact hennikerconcerts@henniker.org.
