Keegan Paradise collected 15 points for the Coe-Brown JV boys’ basketball team in a 64-32 win over Bishop Brady. Cole Hodgdon added 12 points and Cayden Donoghue chipped in with nine.

Eight different players scored for the Hopkinton JV girls’ basketball team in a win over Hillsboro-Deering. The Hawks improved to 11-3 with the victory.

Middle school result

The Hopkinton Middle School girls’ Nordic team won a race on Thursday at Hearth Farm in Sugar Hill. Harriet Pearce, Audrey Davies and Gianna Covello all skied well for the Hawks. Josh Duval, Lincoln Wilson and Jonah Klingler scored for the boys’ team.

Prep results

Andranik Armstrong, Thomas Samuelsen and Drew Bennett all notched second-period goals for the Kimball Union boys’ hockey team in a 4-2 win over New Hampton. Hugo Turcotte came away with 18 saves and Matt Egan finished with two assists.

Tiffany Hill and Bella Kang each found the back of the net for the St. Paul’s School girls’ hockey team during a 3-2 overtime loss against Tabor.

College standouts

Clarissa Foote (Weare), a senior for the Plymouth State University women’s lacrosse team, figures to be a key piece in goal for the Panthers this season, who were selected to repeat as LEC champions in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll. PSU opens the season at Babson College on Feb. 28.

NEC result

The New England College women’s hockey team fell to 2-20-2 after a 5-3 loss to Salve Regina University on Friday. Morgan Lamos, Erica Lissner and Alexa Scribner handled the scoring for NEC.

UNH results

The University of New Hampshire men’s and women’s cross country teams have both been awarded the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association 2017 All-Academic Award. The men’s team posted a 3.16 GPA to claim the award; the women’s team had a 3.56 GPA.

Sophomores Meghara McManus and Carlee Turner both scored for the University of New Hampshire women’s hockey team, leading the Wildcats past Boston College, 2-1, at the Conte Forum. It was Wildcats first win against Boston College since 2013-14 season. Ava Boutilier made 34 saves to hold off the Eagles.

Despite outshooting Vermont, 28-20, the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team fell to the Catamounts, 2-1, at the Whittemore Center. Junior Ara Nazarian scored the lone goal for the Wildcats, who went 0-for-6 on the power play.

Racing in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday at Boston University, UNH senior Elinor Purrier broke a school record in the mile run with a time of 4 minutes, 26.55 seconds. The performance stands as the second-fastest time in NCAA history in the mile.

Northeast Delta Dental Mount Washington Road Race registration runs Monday-Feb. 26. Entrants in the race, a grueling 7.6 miles up New Hampshire’s famously steep and scenic Mt. Washington Auto Road, are chosen by a lottery, accessible at mtwashingtonautoroad.com/mount-washington-road-race. Lottery registration opens on Monday at 8 a.m. and closes on Feb. 26 at 11:59 p.m. Following the close of registration for the lottery, a computer randomly selects the runners who will be entered in the race. The entry fee, charged to those who are selected, is $95. Notification of acceptance or rejection by the lottery will be sent via email to each applicant on March 1. This year’s race will take place on June 16 with a 9 a.m. start.
