Letter: A ride to the polls

Wednesday, October 10, 2018

The tradition of standing outside at the polls is a long one, and I have certainly done my share over the last nine cycles as I’ve run for New Hampshire state representative. Not many voters interact with the candidates, most choosing to avoid eye contact and going in to the polls to vote. This year I want to break with tradition and do something more productive with my time: This year I am offering a free ride to the polls in Weare and Deering to anyone not able to get a ride. I believe this to be a much more productive use of my time and, hopefully, a way that I can be of service.

I will not accept any thing for this service, but if you want to donate a canned good for the Weare Food Pantry, I’ll have a collection box in the back of my van. Hope you’ll help me spread the word so I can have a full schedule on election day. To get on my ride schedule in Weare or Deering, text me at 345-9466 or email Wilber@aol.com. Please include your address and preferred time. Seniors and one-car families (or anyone who needs a ride!): Let me bring you to the polls and back on election day, Nov. 6.

LISA M. WILBER
