Letter: How to remove a tick

Tuesday, June 12, 2018

In your June 5 issue, there are two stories by David Brooks about wood ticks. I have discovered a trick for tick removal that is easy and relatively painless.

Discover a tick attached to your skin? First, rotate your hand and wrist as far as you can clockwise. Then, seize the monster firmly. Finally, gradually unwind your hand and wrist counter-clockwise. Voila! The tick releases and comes out without the usual chunk of your flesh.
