An Allenstown man was taken into custody Friday after police say they found him in a stolen vehicle in Hooksett.

Joseph Hanright, 28, faces a felony count of receiving stolen property.

A Hooksett police officer observed a vehicle parked in a dark area of the Walmart parking lot at 3 Commerce Drive about 2:44 a.m. The officer observed two people inside the vehicle and made contact with Hanright who was seated in the driver’s seat.

Through dispatch, the officer learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen just a few hours earlier.

Hanright refused the services of a bail commissioner following his arrest. He was transported to the Merrimack County jail to await his arraignment Friday afternoon in Merrimack County Superior Court.
