Concord CRTC to offer an all-girls garage

Concord High School girls can get under the hood to learn the auto maintenance basics from how to change their oil to important items to check when buying a used car at the Concord Regional Technical Center’s “All Girls Garage.” This hands-on after school program is open to all CHS girls and will run weekly on Wednesdays from Oct. 11 through Nov. 15. Classes are held from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m., and are being taught by CRTC graduate Abby McIntosh, an auto technician at Banks Chevrolet. Classes will be held in the CRTC Auto Technology classroom beginning Oct. 11. “These classes will allow the girls to roll up their sleeves and get a little grease under their fingernails as they become more knowledgeable about the cars they’ll be owning and driving,” said Scott Mayotte, CRTC auto technology teacher.
