Concord Finish education

The Concord Regional Diploma Academy, through its Adult High School program offers adult students from Concord and surrounding cities and towns the opportunity to take a step toward their future. Through evening courses and individualized programs, students can earn high school credits, as they complete their high school diploma (at any age). Classes offered are in mathematics, science, social studies, English, career readiness and training, art and other electives. Belmont Black Friday pet adopt-a-thon

Join the N.H. Humane Society for its annual Black Friday Adopt-a-Thon, now with even more dogs and puppies looking for a “fur-ever” home. The Adopt-a-Thon will be held on Friday at the Belknap Mall in Belmont from 9 to 11 a.m., and again this year, a second flight of dogs and puppies from noon to 2 p.m. Adopters must be 21 or older; bring proof of homeownership or a rental agreement that explicitly states that pets are allowed, and proof that any other animals in the home are current on rabies vaccinations. If prospective adopters already own a dog, the animals must meet prior to the finalization of adoption. Check nhhumane.org and the N.H. Humane Society Facebook page for more details.

Penacook Tree lighting

The 12th Annual Penacook Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Boudreau Square in the center of Penacook Village. Penacook Elementary chorus will perform and refreshments will be provided for the children. The tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. and Santa will visit following the lighting.

Laconia LRGH again offers the Tree of Love

Kicking off the holiday season, the Lakes Region General Hospital Auxiliary is excited to once again offer the Holiday Tree of Love. An annual symbol of community Christmas and holiday spirit, the tree is lovingly adorned with angels decorated by students from Woodland Heights School. Angels are $3 each, and may be purchased in the LRGH Auxiliary Gift Shop. The annual Tree of Love Ceremony will be Dec. 2 at 4:30 p.m. in the atrium at Lakes Region General Hospital. The ceremony will include a reading of the names on the Tree of Love, and will be followed with some light refreshments and fellowship; all are welcome.
