MeredithLibrary Week events

The Meredith Public Library, 91 Main St., is celebrating National Library Week this week with activities for all ages and a special contest. They will be handing out a brochure of events, a bookmark and a flyer inviting you to answer, “My Library Led the Way to.” How has the library led you over the years? Maybe you found a great author you never knew about, received help with a job application, or were inspired to try a new hobby at one of our events. Please fill out the form and add your name to it if you wish to be entered into the contest. The staff will pick their favorite to win a $25 gift card to Once Read Books, generously donated by the Friends of the Library. On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., welcome nationally syndicated newspaper columnist Tim Carter who will share how he discovered, after 63 years of trying, the pathway to true happiness. For ages 8 to 18, John’s Manga club will be celebrating Earth Day on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. This will be focusing on anime that celebrates nature, watching Princess Mononoke and trying out crafts. Miss Karen has two events planned for younger children. On Wednesday at 10 a.m., listen to a story about a community of friendly southwestern animals waiting for the arrival of a mysterious guest … hint, this guest brings books wherever it goes! On Friday at 10 a.m., learn why Lola loves her library. Both events will have snacks, a craft and coffee for grown-ups.
