A live auction to benefit Concord Crew will take place Saturday at 5 p.m. at 15 Loudon Road, Concord. Items available to bid on will include furnishings and tech items; ski lift tickets and yoga lessons; on-water opportunity to experience crew for a family, friends or business group; services from dozens of area businesses; gift certificates and much more. Great food and a tour of the state’s top youth rowing boathouse. Proceeds benefit rowing program open to middle and high school kids in the Capitol region. Concord Crew is a private, nonprofit organization. “We have an open door, no-cut policy for middle school and high school students,” said Jennifer Prentice, president of the board. Auction proceeds will support scholarships and expand offerings, she said.

New LondonFirst Friday fun

The Center for The Arts Lake Sunapee Region will co-sponsor the Hopkinton Town Band, on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Mary D. Haddard band stand in New London. CFA will also recognize the Lake Sunapee Region 2018 Center for The Arts scholarship recipients. Funded by the generosity of members and the community these scholarships are awarded each year to students and adults who are pursuing any area of the arts (literature, drama, dance, music or the visual arts). All First Friday events are free and open to the public. The Center for The Arts is a volunteer organization that hosts a series of free arts programs on the first Friday of each month in the Lake Sunapee Region. Working with business partners in the community, CFA strives to showcase local and regional talent for the benefit of the artists, performers, residents, and visitors to this beautiful region.
