Rebecca Rule, a New Hampshire Humanities audience favorite, will be presenting, “Moved and Seconded: Town Meetings in New Hampshire” on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 p.m. at the Corner Meeting House in Belmont, 14 Sargent St. Rebecca Rule, a Northwood, NH resident, is a consummate storyteller who gathers and tells tales of New England, mostly of which are about New Hampshire. She is the author of eleven books, including N is for New Hampshire out in the fall of 2016 with Islandport Press. Funding for this program is provided by N.H. Humanities and the Sargent Fund. HopkintonLine dance teacher needed at center

The Hopkinton Recreation Department is looking for a Line Dancing Instructor to teach some new dances to the Intermediate Line Dancing participants at the Slusser Center in Contoocook. Our Intermediate Line Dancing program, geared for those 50-plus, currently meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. If you are interested in teaching, or would like more information, please call the Recreation Department at 746-8263.

NorthwoodHomecoming events

Coe-Brown Northwood Academy is pleased to announce that our Annual Homecoming will be celebrated Friday and Saturday. The weekend will kick off with “Red and White” day for students on Friday, followed by the family friendly Comedy Hypnosis Show Steve Wronker’s Funny Business at 7 p.m. for $10 in the Gerrish Gym. A full day of fantastic family activities is planned across the campus for Saturday including athletic events: Bass Fishing at 8 a.m., Cross Country vs. Portsmouth and Bow at 9 a.m., Girls JV/V Soccer vs. Oyster River at noon, Boys JV/V Soccer vs. Plymouth at 2 p.m. and Girls R/JV/V Volleyball vs. St. Thomas at 2:30, 3:45, and 5. To get the day started there will be a pancake breakfast hosted by the CBNA Chapter of FCCLA from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Smith Hall Lobby. Pre-sale tickets are $8 per person or $25 for a family of 4 or more, or $10 per person or $30 for a family of four or more at the door.
