A former West Virginia priest who once worked in New Hampshire has been sentenced on a conviction of sexually molesting a girl.

Fairfax County Virginia Circuit Judge Michael Devine sentenced Felix Owino yesterday to five years, but suspended all but nine months of the sentence, according to the court clerk's office. Owino already has served seven months.

Owino pleaded guilty in September to aggravated sexual battery. Prosecutors said Owino was drinking the night he inappropriately touched the 11-year-old girl in Virginia.

Before his arrest in July, Owino served as an associate pastor at a Roman Catholic church in Weirton, W.Va. He also taught at Wheeling Jesuit University the past two years.

Prior to that, Owino worked as a chaplain at Magdalen College in Warner between 2005 and 2007.
