A challenge to nonbelievers

Last modified: 3/2/2011 12:00:00 AM
There are several vocal readers of the Concord Monitor who deny God exists and that the Bible has any validity; they say there is no need today to try to follow its teachings. Most of these people, do so based on ignorance of the Bible. They write letters full of venom, thinking that raising their voices makes them more credible, that ridiculing those who believe the Bible makes them somehow smarter than Bible believers.

It is to these people that I write.

If you wish to make your point - that God doesn't exist and believing the Bible is a waste of time - I offer a challenge: Read the Bible, from start to finish, to the point where you know what God has allegedly promised to His people. Then, do exactly what He has allegedly instructed, within the parameters of current laws. Alas, this includes allowing yourself to believe the possibility that the Bible is accurate and valid. If you wish to disprove the existence of God, prove him wrong.

One of the things the alleged Divinity has promised follows: 'If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.'

So rather than spewing venom against this letter, put your money where your mouth is. Follow the instructions above and prove God wrong.
