OUR ENVIRONMENT NEEDS MORE LOCAL REPORTING

The Concord Monitor is launching its Environmental Reporting Lab, a long-term effort to better inform the community about the New Hampshire environment. To launch phase 1 of this effort, we need your help. The money raised will go toward hiring a full-time environmental reporter.

Re 'Lawmakers demand colleges allow guns' (Monitor front page, Nov. 25): I have an idea. Why don't we start at preschool with plastic guns to get comfortable. By middle school, non-automatic weapon training. By junior high, automatic weapons, and by high school other weapon training so that by college they can be ready for all the terrorists and bogeymen in New Hampshire.

When you visit the State House, you can check your weapons instead of your coat. Whoops, sorry, you can carry your guns in the gallery.

And did you see the Fox News host Megyn Kelly say that the pepper-spraying last week was only a 'food product'? That's like saying that water-boarding was only a way to hydrate detainees.
