Order a pie for National Pi Day

Order a pie for National Pi Day March 14 (remember pi=3.14) from Smith Memorial Congregational Church, 30 W. Main St. Order your choice of six different 9-inch homemade pies at $12 each. Pies will be available for pickup March 14 between 3 and 5 p.m. at the church or pies will be delivered to your door (within 10 miles of the church) late Wednesday afternoon. Call 464-5239 to order your pie(s): apple, blueberry, key lime, pecan, velvet chocolate cream and lemonade stand (a frozen Southern classic). The deadline to order is Wednesday.

• Spring is just around the corner! The next 'How To Day' program at the library will be held Tuesday and will be about seed starting. Learn the basics of starting your own garden plants from seed. For more information, call the library at 464-3595.

• The Deborah Society of Smith Memorial Congregational Church received a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council to present 'Imperial Russian Faberge Eggs' by Marina Forbes. 'Russian Faberge Eggs and Lacquer Boxes' will be presented tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the vestry of Smith Memorial Congregational Church, 30 West Main St. This program is free.

• Meet the candidates night will be held Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 59, 538 W. Main St. Candidates for the town and Hillsboro-Deering School District will be on hand to speak to voters and answer questions. For more information, call 464-4640.
