THOMAS GETZ testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on April 27 about weather-related electrical outages that New Hampshire has experienced from 2008 to 2011.

He talked about his experience with electrical outages from four separate extreme weather events in New Hampshire and commented that both state and local officials and utility management have become more adept at planning for, responding to and recovering from extreme weather events that cause widespread electrical outages.

Getz chairs Devine Millimet's energy and regulatory affairs practice group. Prior to joining the firm, he served as chairman of the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission.
