Termites force preschool to move

Last modified: 10/3/2012 12:00:00 AM
Concord Regional Technical Center's early childhood education program and the preschool where classes are held has moved to Abbot-Downing School after workers discovered a termite infestation in the program's facility on *Warren Street.

District employees found the damage when they were installing an electronic white board. An engineering school is due to deliver estimates of the cost of exterminating the bugs by early next week, according to district Director of Facilities and Planning Matt Cashman.

In the meantime, the program has been moved to an unsued kindergarten classroom at Abbot-Downing, on South Street. Students from the high school have arranged their own transportation to the new location and no extra buses will be used, Cashman said.

*A previous version of this story incorrectly named the street the building was located on.
