Elderly man found dead in Concord woods

Last modified: 11/12/2013 3:52:22 PM
An 83-year-old man found dead yesterday in the woods in northwest Concord appears to have died of natural causes, the police said.

Law enforcement and emergency personnel responded about 11:30 a.m. to the area, which is roughly a half mile northeast of North Curtisville Road, Lt. Tim O’Malley said in a statement.

The man, who the police had yet to identify as of last night as they contacted next of kin, was believed to have been hunting at or around the time of his death, O’Malley said. He added that there were “no initial indicators of foul play” and that the man seems to have died of natural causes.

O’Malley said it was unclear who made the initial report, but that the man appears to have been hunting with another person.
