Regis Dean Roxanne Gonzales named president of Granite State College

Dr. Roxanne Gonzales, a dean and professor at Regis University in Denver, has been named the new president of the Concord-based Granite State College.

Gonzales will be familiar to longtime employees: She worked at Granite State College as director of prior learning assessment from 1994 to 2001.

According to a statement today from Granite State, Gonzales was responsible for helping stabilize declining enrollments at Regis’s College for Professional Studies, through such means as improved marketing and forging relationships with community colleges.

Granite State College is part of New Hampshire’s university system, with a primary goal of serving adult learners. It provides online and traditional classes in associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, among other offerings.

“Dr. Gonzales clearly understands how to meet the needs of adult workers who seek to elevate their social mobility,” University System Chancellor Todd Leach said in a statement. Leach served as Granite State’s president before being named chancellor last summer.

Gonzales, who will be Granite State’s fifth president, is due to start work in Concord on April 28.
