Officials announced Wednesday night that an arrest had been made in connection with the murder of Jacob Pelletier, 2, of Manchester.

Mark Heath, 32, was arrested late Friday evening and charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

An autopsy of Pelletier earlier in the day on Wednesday shows the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the abdomen, authorities said.

Manchester police responded to an apartment at 11:30 a.m. Monday for a report of an unconscious toddler. Pelletier was taken to a hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Heath will likely be arraigned Thursday in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester.
