Loudon’s Big Apple Store, a convenience store and gas station located next to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, will shut its doors this month, employees said.

The closure, which will happen Sunday, will result in six employees losing their jobs, a Big Apple employee said. CN Brown, the company that owns Big Apple, told employees the decision was made because of business lost when New Hampshire Motor Speedway surrendered one of its two major NASCAR races to Las Vegas last year.

Employees said some of the Loudon workers had been offered positions at the Big Apple Store in Tilton. The Big Apple Store in Loudon is located at 904 Route 106.

CN Brown owns 76 Big Apple Stores across Maine and New Hampshire, according to the company’s website. CN Brown’s headquarters is located in Maine.
