BOW – Despite being significantly undermanned, Bow fought admirably on Tuesday night, even though the Falcons came up short against Kennett, 50-41.

The Falcons (6-8) kept pace with the Eagles (8-5), who knocked down several 3s early, but trailed 14-9 after the first period. Early in the second, Bow continued to fight, diving after loose balls and forcing jump balls. But Kennett surged offensively to close the half and took a 29-17 lead into the halftime break.

Bow’s malaise carried into the third, when the Falcons didn’t score until 4:03 left in the quarter and trailed 38-30 entering the fourth.

In the fourth quarter, the Falcons cut their deficit to 39-35 but wouldn’t pull any closer.

Freshman Jake Reardon led the way offensively for Bow with 14 points. Senior Mark Folsom added seven points, six rebounds and six steals.

The Falcons currently sit in 12th in the Division II standings and have four games remaining in the regular season. Next up is Bishop Brady on Friday night at home, as Bow continues its push to sneak into the playoffs.
