The Latest: Covid cases at area schools

A student at Broken Ground School in Concord has tested positive for COVID-19. Interim superintendent Kathleen Murphy announced the case in a message to families Tuesday. The student was in school last on Jan. 4. 

A staff member at Franklin High School tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. Superintendent Dan LeGallo announced the case Monday, and said there were no close contacts. A student at Franklin Middle School has also tested positive, who has not been in school since before winter vacation.

There have been nine new cases of COVID-19 at Belmont High School since before winter vacation, according to the Shaker Regional School District’s online COVID dashboard. Three of those are active cases; the rest have recovered.

Belmont Elementary School has also had nine positive cases of COVID-19 since before winter vacation. Two of those are currently active cases.

There have been four new cases of COVID-19 at Belmont Middle School since before winter vacation. Two of those are active cases.
