The Pittsfield Players will head to the magical land of Camelot for its upcoming performance.

The troupe will perform the Alan Lerner and Frederick Loewe musical, Camelot, for the next two weekends at the Scenic Theatre.

Camelot is the home of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. The show opens just before Arthur’s marriage to Guenevere. Arthur is nervous, but Merlyn the Magician gives him some advice.

Unfortunately, Merlyn is drawn to an eternal sleep before he can warn Arthur of two men who will be detrimental to his future.

So, of course, after several years of ruling his kingdom and the success of his knights, things take a turn for the worse.

Arthur becomes torn between upholding the law and protecting that whom he loves.

Showtimes are this Friday and Saturday and Nov. 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18; purchase by visiting pittsfieldplayers.com or by calling 435-8852.
