Police have shut down southbound access to Interstate 89 beyond Exit 2 due to a car crash involving multiple vehicles.

Concord police and fire responded to a call for assistance with a car crash around 8:50 p.m. State police are now on the scene.

It is unclear how long access to I-89 will be restricted. Police have blocked off access to the southbound Exit 2  ramp, and traffic headed south on I-89 is being rerouted to Clinton Street in Concord.

Concord police said the scene was still active and referred all questions to state police, who were unable to comment at 10 p.m.
