Head to the Castleton in Windham on January 28 for Burns Night, celebrating the birthday of Scotland’s Poet Laureate Robert Burns(1759-1796).

Part of the era known as the Enlightenment, Robert Burns influence in prose and poetry was enormous and has shaped culture worldwide. This is commemorated in To The Immortal Memory which addresses that legacy always at every Burns Night.

In addition to Burns Night staples such as the Salute To The Haggis and To The Lasses participants are encouraged to bring a Quaich to this Burns Night. This is a traditional Highland Scots drinking vessel in line with the combination of both Highland and Lowland Scots cultures. That is another hallmark of Burns Night

Celtic Beats and The New Hampshire Pipes And Drums willl be there with great tunes of Celtic Music, time honored and new and will introduce newcomers to this event with Scottish Country Dancing.

Burns Night will be celebrated beginnng at 5 p.m. on January 28 at the Castleton (58 Enterprise Drive in Windham). This event is sponsored by The New Hampshire Pipes and Drums and New Hampshire School Of Scottish Arts. Tickets can be obtained atnhssa.org
