Bell, Bean lead in loss

Bishop Brady graduate Jourdain Bell led the Colby-Sawyer men’s basketball team with 21 points, but the Chargers fell to UMaine-Farmington, 85-82, on Saturday in New London.

Franklin native Dana Bean, a freshman, was 6 of 8 from the floor and finished with 19 points, six rebounds and four blocks.

Bell, a sophomore from Manchester, scored a layup with 1:22 left to play to put the Chargers in front 79-78, but Riley Robinson hit a trey and a layup on consecutive possessions for the Beavers to put them on top 83-79.

UMF improves to 6-10 overall and 5-5 in the NAC. Colby-Sawyer drops to 7-10 overall and 4-6 in the conference. The Chargers are off until next Friday when they will travel to Maine Maritime.
