Police have charged two people who they say tampered with a former Concord High School student’s Facebook account and posted about a shooting imminent at the school.

Kyle Slogic, 21, of Concord and his friend, Brandon Foster, 18, of Pittsfield, each face charges of conspiracy to commit criminal threatening, misuses of a computer or network and false public alarm. Both Slogic and Foster were arrested Thursday evening and held without bail pending their arraignments Friday afternoon in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord.

Police initially received word of a possible threat against Concord High School early Sunday. Within hours, police said they had identified the individuals involved and deemed the threat not credible.

Concord police Lt. Sean Ford said Friday that Slogic was seeking revenge against a relative whose Facebook account he compromised.

The department learned of the Facebook post after someone captured an image of it and circulated that image among a group of Concord High students on Snapchat. Those students then reached out to the city police.

Upon initiating their investigation, police contacted district and high school administrators. Four off-duty detectives were called in late Sunday, while additional officers working the midnight shift stayed on through Monday morning to assist with increased patrols at the school, Ford said. Officials said those additional patrols were strictly precautionary.

Ford said detectives reached out to Facebook for help with their investigation. However, the social media platform refused to cooperate and told police they needed a search warrant.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Lt. Ford at 225-8600 or the Concord Regional Crimeline at 226-3100.
