A Concord man was arrested Friday morning after police say he fired a gun during an argument at a Shaker Road home.

Police responded at 9:07 a.m. to a reported domestic disturbance at 73 Shaker Road, where they found and man and woman fleeing from the home after an altercation with another man.

Police interviewed all three people involved and then arrested Richard Murray, 66, of Concord who, police were told, showed a handgun during the argument, pointed it at the other man and threatened to kill him. Police say Murray then physically assaulted the woman.

The argument continued outside the house where police say Murray fired the handgun “in close proximity to the female victim.”

Murray was charged with criminal threatening with a firearm, reckless conduct, and domestic violence reckless conduct, all felonies. He’s also charged with misdemeanor simple assault and domestic violence simple assault.

Bail had not yet been set for Murray as of Friday afternoon, according to Concord police.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Concord Police Lt. Sean Ford at 225-8600 or the Concord Regional Crimeline at 226-3100.
