Avery Smith of Concord threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park on Thursday in Boston as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Night. Avery, a kindergartner at Christa McAuliffe School, was diagnosed with leukemia in April of 2017 and has been undergoing treatment at Children’s Hosptial at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
