Scientific theory may contain facts but by definition cannot be fact. One is a hypothesis, the other a statement. Theories – evolutionary, atomic, electrical, quantum, etc. – are models built using empirical observations and data to describe how something may work. Science is nontheistic/deistic in nature because it relies on empirical data. As more data is accumulated the model is modified or abandoned.

One of the many advancements to come from this model was that human DNA that codes for insulin can be inserted into the nucleus within the E-coli bacterium to produce human insulin. Millions of lives have been saved by this alone.

Dr. Behe’s theory does not prove his premise. Like any other theory it will stand or fall as more empirical data and testing is done. His claims have been rejected by the majority of the scientific community, including his own biology department.
