Letter: Davis for county attorney

Friday, October 12, 2018

The county attorney’s seat is vacant and, in a surprising turn of events, there is a new challenger. Her name is Robin Davis. In a single 48-hour period, the days before the primary election, friends of Robin Davis mounted a write-in campaign for the Democratic nomination. With little more than word of mouth and social media, Robin garnered 1,377 votes in Merrimack County.

Robin has been an attorney for 15 years, both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. She is a graduate of UNH Law, formerly Franklin Pierce Law School. Before that she graduated from Keene State College with a dual major in psychology and sociology. She went to Keene State on the G.I. Bill, having served in the Army.

The county attorney is the chief law enforcement officer of the county and responsible for indictments, victims’ services, diversion and prosecuting felonies. It is easily one of the most important locally elected officials in the state of New Hampshire.

As an attorney, Robin has litigated juvenile cases, misdemeanors and felonies, including homicides. Robin knows what it takes to try a case in front of a jury and win. This is the type of experience Merrimack County needs to lead the county attorney’s office.

I support Robin because I know she has the experience, compassion, empathy, intelligence and fortitude to serve us all. I encourage you all to go out and vote on Nov. 6 and to vote for Robin Davis for county attorney.
